Good evening this eighth day of winter. How has the new season been going for you? The crew and I have been in holiday vacation/hibernation mode. The four of us have been holed up at home and waking up late each morning.
I managed to get in one, last card for this 2019 – a birthday card for one of my high school peeps.

In this card I finally started using the dies I had found during my first trip to Hobby Lobby in Elk Grove late September; thank you, Mama.
I have a Cuttlebug, my Christmas gift from E and the dames about two Christmases ago and sadly not used until now. This machine has been discontinued and since I’m using dies of another company, I had to hunt down something similar to Cuttlebug’s cutting plate C; luckily I found one on Amazon and it works perfectly.
Supplies
- Recollections 8.5 x 11 cardstock, white
- Distress Oxides: Black Soot, Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers
- Sizzix Thinlit Dies: Garden Greens & Mixed Media 1
- Sizzix 3-D Texture Fades – Foundry – embossing folder
- Inkadinkado DH Script Background
- Stampin Up! Party with Cake stamps
- black, photo corners
- silver, embossing powder
I can’t remember what inspired the color scheme but Mer usually wears neutrals and she is one fierce, blunt friend. Therefore I wanted to make a moody card for her. Every piece revolves around the Distress Oxides I used. She received it the day before her birthday and loved it!
Sorry I didn’t get a podcast in this month; I was super busy prepping for Christmas. I’m currently working on a design for thank you cards for the teen’s tennis donors, tying in the girls’ holiday gifts as well (where it applies). I don’t know if I’ll get them done by the end of the year as I have 17 to make but oh well, I think each giver will understand once he/she sees what I’ve created. You know me and my strong tendency for perfection!
Have a good evening. Thanks for dropping by. TTYS.

very beautiful! I just listened to your last podcast, I am woefully behind on the listening because of the holiday madness!

Thank you, Karen. I need to find more podcasts to listen to; I want to find a Harry Potter one. I need to pick up again checking them out on Spotify.

You are an accomplished artist! I’m impressed by your color scheme and color transitions. You should try dyeing yarn, you’ll get amazing unique results with your artistic sense of color.
