Good morning. Happy New Year. Ah, with the start of a fresh, new year also comes with a fresh, new book!

Shelia of Book Journey has hosted this event – First Book of the Year – for the past, couple of years. I’ve participated in it since 2015! If you’re curious about this event, here she talks about the how and here she talks about the why.

I’ve been missing the vampire world and so I wanted to read a book with them involved. For my first book of 2020, I’ve picked Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress #1) by Jeaniene Frost. I’m looking forward to starting this Kindle version today. BTW, don’t mind my funky updo; I’ve got my hair pulled back in three places.
If you’d like to see what others have picked for her/his first read of this year and/or to get inspired on what to read this month, head over to Shelia’s post. TTYS.
I’m listening to a vampire audiobook…The Bite Before Christmas by Lynsay Sands. It’s a holiday paranormal romance of the snowed-in-together variety, and I’m enjoying it as a change from my usual holiday listening!

Great, I think that will be a great series. I like vampires in small doses! Think the updo in three places looks very smart!

This read will be different from my usual fantasy read for sure. Thanks on my ‘do 😂. The growing out layers can only do so much.

I haven’t come across this book but it sounds good even for the non-fantasy reader that I am. Hope you’re enjoying it!

I soon forgot about this post. Lol. I remembered on the night on Dec 31 but had no energy to do the post and it would have been too lat for Sheila. Next one!!
