Cross Stitch VIII

Hello. How’s the weather in your hood? Today is a break from the warm weather with grey skies, a good breeze, and mid-60’s.

Stitching has been my go-to after a bit of knitting each day:

Glitter Village by Country Cottage Needleworks

I had fun making the trees and the roof of the house. I want to finish the white details of the house before I start using those fun colors to fill in the space.

I’ve been using my lap hoop and magnifying craft light to help with this 18-count Aida cloth.

Well, my alarm has gone off. Off to prep the meal of the day; our crew is having the last of the spuds along with boiled, frozen veggies + we’ll be trying brown rice quinoa today. Thank you for poppin in. TTYS.

  1. I was wondering what kind of embroidery stand to get. My hands do.get tired after a while.of holding the hoop. I like the fact yours is made in the USA too. Love your light too. I have a daylight lamp with a magnifying glass in it. Only issue I have is it gets a bit warm sitting under it in the summertime. Your house is pretty but will be even prettier when the colors are added.

    1. Yeah, sometimes I wish the lamp could have a longer extension of a neck so I could clamp it onto the end table and angle it over my hoop.

  2. I love the colored background!!! This is fun to watch. We found an old lamp in the storage of the house basement and it is great for bright light for knitting.

  3. I love your sweet cross stitch, Stef! I’ve been working on 18ct fabric lately, and I don’t know what possessed me to order some 25 count recently (thinking I’m going to work it 1 over 1). I sit here waiting for it to arrive and I wonder if I’ll be able to manage it. Sigh.

      1. No, I’ve ordered some hardanger and I think some aida. While I love the look of linen, I’m pretty intimidated to try it. I have a nice bright light for the work I’m doing. I couldn’t do cross stitch at this point without it.
