Made For 29

Sad News

Last week our ohana lost Mortimer. She suddenly got sick the weekend before and got worse fast. After having the vet try to help her for a day, it broke our hearts to see MoMo suffer throughout the night, so we made the decision to have her euthanized. My oldest of course was absolutely devastated that very day. E and I just let her stay in bed grieving.

It was also sad to see Minnie look for her, especially the day after. She would go under the couch where she could smell her sister and she would walk around and look for her in the places Mortie usually hung out.

The next day Coco Puff perked up some as she got some good news about her AP European History exam; she passed with flying colors – a 5, the highest score she could have gotten on a prompt that was way harder than what her friends got. And I think now Minnie is used to being the only feline in the house. She does go to J’s room more often now for some hanging out and for some love-love. This cat seems to eat more as well as I think her sister used to hog the food.

Back to Knitting

Half of sleeve island has been visited! I made a small modification: I knitted the main part longer before starting the cuff. My SIL measured RyRy’s arm as 11″ while the pattern for his size has it at 8.5″. Thankfully, I have enough charcoal yarn.

Still have lots to do on this WIP:

  • the other sleeve
  • collar
  • buttonband
  • pockets
  • elbow patches

Thank you for your sweet compliments on yesterday’s post. I will have to go back to the husband’s socks. Disney+ (just for this month) has been my companion; I’ve been watching lots of its shows; these are some of them:

  1. Frozen 2
  2. Aladdin (the live one)
  3. Secrets of the Zoo Tampa {I really liked this one!}
  4. Wild Chile
  5. America’s National Parks
  6. Wild Yellowstone

I tried to watch one on the King Cobra; I got grossed out and couldn’t finish it, LOL.

Okie doke, that’s all I got for today. Enjoy your Saturday. Thanks for droppin by and TTYS.

  1. Oh so sorry to hear that you lost one of your beloved pets. I know they brought you so much joy together. So sad. I love the sweater, it looks great. I was trying to think what to call it – we’d call it a cardigan but then I saw sweater up above in a comment!! Take care and stay safe.

  2. Oh my goodness. I’m so sorry to hear about MoMo! How sad. On the good news front, I’m so happy for your daughter and her success on her AP exam. Congrats to her!

  3. I am so sorry about your Mortimer. 😦 It is always so hard to lose a little furry friend.

Congrats to your smart little Cocoa Puff! Kudos to her!

I will have to check out some of those shows on Disney+. I am always nervous about the animal ones – you will have to give me a heads up on if any animals die in them. I remember my cousin and I went to see a movie about lions and all the cubs died one by one and I was sobbing very loudly in the theater.
