Good evening. How have you been? Can you believe it’s almost Amercian Thanksgiving? Crazy, right? Anyone watching Christmas movies yet?
The four of us have been plodding along, day to day. School has kept the dames busy. The husband either WFH or goes into work. I come up with OMAD’s (Barefoot Contessa’s Mac ‘n Cheese & fried rice) and have been occupying my time with baking (pumpkin pie & cookies), a refreshed a-line bob with layers and highlights, and even a little knitting while I wait for my fabric order to arrive from Georgia. I recently watched Holidate; it had some good, funny moments and at other times it was over the top and silly.
I’ve also slipped in some cross stitch. Speaking of…on a tangent, did any of you shop The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery’s sale? They had a 30% off PDF sale. I bought two patterns:
- Once Upon a Time Sampler and
- Autumn Sampler.
I’m tempted to start another cross stitch just to have variety in that department, LOL ^__^.
Here’s where I am so far on The Cross-Eyed Cricket’s Autumn piece:
All five apples are done. I’m currently working on their leaves.
You can see each apple has three colors in it. I stitched each apple individually. I would try to stitch the lighter red first and then the golden accent next so I would have thread to weave under on the back for that single “x”.
This design is very detailed. This is why I may want another piece to work on that has quicker gratification in smaller parts. Once Upon a Time is comprised of little squares of fairy tales.
Okie doke. I was going to try to get to sewing today, but I’m a little pooped. I’m going to take inventory on what colors we have in stock for OUAT and then I’ll knit or cross stitch while watching Netflix.
Have a good evening. Thanks for dropping by. TTYS.
